Founded in 2022, Gabi Gamél is a Copenhagen-based brand created by Gabriella Hye de Pasqualin Gamél, that specialises in womenswear while appealing to all.
Gabi Gamél accentuates the connection between the language of the textiles and the childlike experimentations of the feminine silhouette, truly emphasizing the comfortable present. The design etos is formed around a culmination of balanced and elevated neutral colours, focusing on the technicalities of the garments - all combined with an intuitive curiousness of the perceived and expected elements of the materials. The silhouette philosophy for Gabi Gamél, since the brand's founding, has always been to give the female form freedom to feel both truly comfortable and excitingly sexy.
Gabi Gamél is currently in stock at Strøm, Mads Nørregaard på Strøget and Mads Nørregaard Århus.
Every Gabi Gamél garment is designed in Copenhagen. Our one-of-a-kind pieces are made in-house at our atelier, with the rest produced in sewing workshops around Europe. All our products are primarily crafted from deadstock fabrics and upcycled materials, ensuring that each piece is unique and produced in limited quantities.
And as Gabi Gamél continues to grow, we welcome you to the family, reminding you to make every day your own: confident, effortless, and unapologetically you! x
Story
Since childhood, Gabriella has embraced the joy of dressing up. She even persuaded her baby brother to become her living mannequin — draped in pearls, skirts, rings, and playful hairbands, standing tall through every whimsical experiment. What started as a way of mirroring the feminine approach she was facing, soon turned into a grounded understanding of the roles we visually take on as we get dressed. As Gabriella’s passion became evident to friends and family, she began receiving carefully curated vintage treasures gradually building an extraordinary, eclectic wardrobe.
As Gabriella got older, with education from the Margrethe School (re. SAFD), she toured the world in search of invaluable experience. Visiting Paris, she found an urged form of authenticity, the ability to take up space, history and an understanding of womanhood. Gabriella herself came from French roots, and this reunion with France sparked memories of visiting her Grandfathers country estate, playing around with his slightly more conservative wardrobe, and her own childlike details and dresses. In many ways France became a way of grounding herself and her works. After Paris, Gabriella journeyed to New York where she was met with a fast-paced, energetic and relentless city. One of the things she noticed was how everyone seemed to be in constant motion; always somewhere to go, and someone to meet. This notion that life is in a constant motion, became another element of the Gabi Gamél design frame; a frame that constantly experiments with the masculine and feminine silhouette with an ability to choose textiles that accentuates contemporary femininity.
As Gabi Gamél’s repertoire begins to take up more space, Gabriella insists on the importance of living in the present, in comfort and confidence. It’s a principle that has guided her work—she feels most herself when she’s comfortable, and this philosophy has always been at the heart of her work. Her collections weave together the past, present, and future, celebrating life's energetic unpredictability.
